The airline has selected PATS Aircraft System from the USA to supply auxiliary fuel tanks(AFS) for the ten B737-900ER it has on order

The first two of the new Turkish Airlines aircraft have been flown from Seattle the the PATS’ facility in Georgetown, Delaware for installation of the AFS.

The AFS will be delivered in a two-tank aft configuration, adding an additional 962 gallons of fuel and extending the range of the aircraft up to 450nm.  As with all PATS systems, the installed AFS feeds the aircraft’s integral fuel tanks and operates independently, allowing the system to be active or inactive based upon mission requirements.

The PATS AFS is seen to add an important option to aircraft owners and operators whether it be commercial passenger service, VIP/executive orspecial missions.  PATS’ CEO, John Martin, said:“We’re proud to count Turkish Airlines as a customer.  We intend to support our product in their fleet with the highest level of customer service and product support.  Turkish Airlines continues to provide a renowned level of service to their customers and we are extremely pleased to provide a product that helps to bolster that reputation.”
