TRAINING: Home and away Nigeria prepares for jet deliveries

Pakistan Air Force instructors have been working in-country to support the Nigerian Air Force ahead of this month’s arrival of three JF-17 Thunder fighters.

The Nigerian Air Force was celebrating its 57th anniversary when the fast jets from Chengdu - Pakistan Aeronautical Corporation joint venture inducted the aircraft at the Makurdi air base.
The Pakistan training team have been maintaining the relationship between the two countries and have been providing technical help to keep the Nigerian fleet of F-7NI Fishcan fighters operational.
PAF also trained Nigerian pilots and ground crew to support these aircraft, as well as enabled the African-based force to indigenously train personnel, making the whole training and maintenance process local.
Meanwhile pilots and crew from Nigeria have been at the Moody air force base in Georgia, USA where they have been undergoing training ahead of the delivery of 12 Embraer/Sierra Nevada A-29 Super Tucano ground-attack aircraft to Nigeria.
