The service was launched 11 December with Sundair operating the Stockholm Arlanda  Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport route once weekly with an A320 model aircraft.

“We evidently are very happy to welcome Sundair to Stockholm Arlanda Airport at these challenging times and for Sundair to seize one of many long-term growth opportunities in the Swedish market. The Stockholm Arlanda-Beirut route was highly successful prior to the pandemic owing to the large population with a Middle East background in Sweden and the Stockholm region in particular,” said Elizabeth Axtelius, director of Aviation Business at Swedavia. “When the world reopens and travel restrictions ease, meetings in person and visiting friends and family again will be important to us all.”

“We are already very experienced with flights to Beirut, which is a destination we are serving from Berlin and Düsseldorf. Stockholm, with its large Lebanese and also Syrian population, was the next logical step for us to expand,” said Marcos Rossello, CEO at Sundair.
