The GSMSG is a charitable non-profit organisation that represents over 1,200 medical professionals who dedicate time to offer top-tier services in austere settings overseas and serve populations in need.

As the official airline partner of GSMSG, Qatar Airways will fly medical volunteers on duty to several international destinations. Qatar Airways’ global network will support the organisation to expand its reach further to provide medical and surgical care, training of physicians and medical staff, as well as respond to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker said: “Qatar Airways strongly believes in giving back to the global community and making a difference. As an airline that connects communities and people worldwide, we are delighted to support GSMSG’s highly commendable initiative and through our robust international network help the medical teams reach more people around the world.”

“We at Qatar Airways are incredibly grateful for the commitment and hard work of healthcare professionals. As a gesture of appreciation in November 2020, we gave away 100,000 free tickets to frontline healthcare professionals to say thank you for their heroic work looking after people and saving thousands of lives during the current COVID-19 pandemic.”

Global Surgical and Medical Support Group President, Dr. Aaron Epstein said: “GSMSG is honoured to partner with Qatar Airways in bringing some of the highest quality medical and surgical care to communities in need around the world.  With Qatar Airways’ international reach, we will improve the lives of hundreds of thousands. Additionally, GSMSG teams include expert trainers and instructors in everything ranging from front line care to nursing, to advanced surgery. By training medical professionals worldwide, we can leave a long-lasting impact on entire communities. Qatar Airways makes this possible by bringing our teams to where they are needed the most.”
