MEBA2012: Lufthansa's 'nice' new system
Lufthansa Technik's Innovation Business Unit (stand 335) has begun production deliveries of its 'nice' cabin management and in-flight entertainment (HD CMS / IFE) system for the new Learjet 70 and Learjet 75.
The ‘nice’ HD system featured on both jets will include personal HD video at most seat locations via seven-inch pop-up displays.
The system includes a number of media interfaces (USB, Apple, HDMI) that will enable encoding and streaming on the ethernet network by connecting personal devices to the system.
Lufthansa Technik Innovation has also developed a multifunctional ‘nice’ HD media centre unit that includes a blu-ray player with built-in storage and update software packages that transform it into a media server, an audio or video on demand (AVoD) server, both wired and wireless, and a map server.
One unit can host all the applications and simultaneously play back two things at once in HD.
