MEBA2012: Hub of opportunities for foreign trade

The UAE's minister of foreign trade, HE Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, joined the royal tour at the opening ceremony of MEBA and took the opportunity to explore some of the stands.

The minister is a regular visitor to MEBA and was delighted to see how it had expanded in its new location. “It is great to have it at the new venue,” she said, “and the exhibition is much larger this year.

"There is a very big market in the region for private jets for business and family use but I think the potential of both is often underestimated.”

She is keen to raise the profile of the facilities available in the UAE to the aviation industry worldwide. “As a ministry we promote global trade throughout the GCC and we place an emphasis on developing non-oil trade. This growing aviation market provides great opportunities, not just for aircraft, but all the services that support it.”

Sheikha Lubna was ranked as the most powerful Arab woman for the second year running earlier this year by CEO Middle East magazine.
