Bell expects the Middle East to be “a continuing expanding market” for helicopters. Interest in the 429 at the 2010 Dubai Helicopter Show convinced the company to display the aircraft at the 2012 event, held at the Meydan Racecourse on November 6-8.

The 429 demonstrator (actually the fifth Model 429 built) undertook a demonstration tour of the UAE and Oman after the show but then returned to Dubai for the MEBA show.

The Bell 429 enjoys exceptional hot and high performance capabilities, which make it particularly well suited to the Middle East’s demanding environment. The aircraft combines a 155kt speed with excellent payload/range and hover performance, and enhanced safety margins.

The aircraft has a spacious 130ft3 cabin, with seating for up to eight passengers and extra-large side doors, giving great multi-role versatility.

The state-of-the-art glass cockpit allows single pilot instrument flight rules (IFR) and offers wide area augmentation system (WAAS) precision approach capabilities.
