Etihad Aviation Group has led celebrations for UAE Flag Day 2017 with a special ceremony at its headquarters in the UAE's capital.

Hundreds of members of staff gathered for the 11am ceremony during which four UAE flags were raised in front of the group’s head office.

The four flags were raised by Mohammed Al Bulooki, Executive Vice President Commercial; Hamda Al Qubaisi, First Officer, Flight Operations; Mohammed Al Blooshi, Guest Services Agent; and Mariam Ali Alobeidli, Technical Engineering Trainee. The four were joined by children of UAE national members of staff, wearing pilot uniforms or traditional local dress.

UAE Flag Day takes place every year to observe the anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan becoming President of the United Arab Emirates in 2004. People across the UAE join together and raise the country’s flag and celebrate the efforts of the nation’s founders.
