“The door is actually a refurb for the A330, which we took on as part exchange,” said Marc Van den Broucque, managing director.

“We overhauled all the electrics and systems, such as the door drive and flight attendant control panels, to reflect the latest A330.”

The door can be seen at the Etihad Engineering chalet, where the company is also highlighting the world’s first holistic and scientifically proven solution to reduce jetlag and increase passenger well-being through cabin lighting by Lufthansa Technik.

Spatial, which is based in Ras Al Khaimah, is also working currently working with Dynamic Advanced Training, a provider of aviation safety and security training, supplying a narrow-body emergency evacuation trainer, which is a combo for the A330 and B737 aircraft, as well as an A350 door trainer and B787 door trainer.

The company also manufactures cabin crew training simulators as well as virtual slide trainers, cabin service trainers, and emergency evacuation trainers.

We have 30 unique customers now and have delivered close to 100 devices,” said Van den Broucque.

“We keep an eye on new generations of aircraft coming through to keep improving all the time. We are currently doing a full evacuation trainer for Lufthansa’s B777X aircraft.”
