Bahrain 2012: Daredevil British Ambassador parachutes in

Daredevil British Ambassador to Bahrain, Iain Lindsay, became a real Red Devil yesterday as he parachuted into the Bahrain Airshow.

Lindsay (pictured centre) jumped from 14,000 feet in a tandem skydive with Red Devil, Corporate Nathan Connolly.

The ambassador did the jump to raise money for British charity Help for Heroes, which supports British servicemen and women injured in Iraq and Afghanistan upon returning to the UK.

“Afghanistan seems very real here in Bahrain. There are many RAF flights and personnel going in and coming out via Manama and I want to do my bit to help the wounded,” said Lindsay.

It was the ambassador’s first sky dive and just before his jump he joked: “Simply marvellous for a chap with a touch of vertigo.”

The Red Devils is the official parachute display team of both the Parachute Regiment and the British Army, and will be taking part in the show over the weekend.
