Frost & Sullivan research analyst Anshul Sharma said: "Key to Yahsat's success in the defence market is its state-of-the-art service 'YahSecure', which provides highly secure and reliable connectivity for military as well as government agencies suitable for most mission critical commercial applications.

"A keen understanding of end-user requirements, coupled with critical performance drivers such as partnerships, innovation and reliability, has enabled Yahsat to become a leader and trusted partner in the military satellite communications market."

Yahsat is the first satellite operator in the Middle East region to provide a highly-secure satellite service on the Ka-band, which addresses the need of armed forces for critical and confidential information, breach–proof encryption services and robust levels of security.

Yahsat's satellite Y1A has been successfully delivered in orbit and is providing satellite communications services for both governmental and commercial customers across the Middle East, Africa, Europe and South West Asia. The company's second satellite, Y1B, is currently in the final integration phase in France and will be launched in Q1 of 2012.

"Through its flexible switching capability between beams and advanced satellite design, Yahsat is now well equipped to handle emerging technologies and will continue to offer cost-effective satellite solutions," concludes Sharma.

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Penetration Leadership is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated excellence in capturing the fastest measured rate of change of market share within its industry. This award recognises how fast a company increases its penetration of a market, in terms of revenues or units, as specified.
