The Vega launcher has successfully completed its eighth mission correctly positioning into orbit the Turkish satellite GÖKTÜRK-1, at an altitude of approximately 700 kilometres.

The mission left the Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana, at 2:51 pm Italian time, 10:51 am local time, and lasted 57 minutes 19 seconds.

From French Guiana, Giulio Ranzo, CEO of Avio, said: "Attending in person the successful performance of our launcher once again was yet another very exciting experience. The launch confirms that the ingenuity and technology expressed by Avio with VEGA at the service of the European aerospace industry are at the highest level, both in Europe and around the world. With eight perfect launches since its debut, Avio has set a world record. Let us continue on this path, with determination, by continuing to invest our resources for the future of the Italian aerospace industry and of our young, talented people. Our congratulations go out to the entire team of the Avio Group, whose work in Guiana, Italy and France enables us to be a leader in our field.”
