Growth in the maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) demands for aero engines has led to UK-based Vacuum Brazing Consultants (VBC) electing to open a new global sales office in Dubai from November.

The company has traded from its Loughborough UK base for more than 25 years, supplying the aerospace and high tech manufacturing industries with welding and brazing consumables.

The new office at the Jebel Ali Free Zone extension Technopark development, will be headed by VBC’s global head of sales, Tom Little.

The company said its international customer base has quickly expanded over the past three years through Europe and onto the Middle East, India and into Singapore and the Far East following aero engine MRO requirements.

The company also supports other industries such as deep hole earth drilling, sensors, satellites and space programs, missiles and medical.

“The new Dubai office will enable better time‐zone specific contact with customers further east especially in MRO where a very fast answer is needed for technical enquiries and product demands,” Little said.

VBC supplies welding filler materials and vacuum brazing media in powder, paste, tape, wire, foil and preform to specifications including AMS, BS, Omat, LCS and the stringent MSRR all for aerospace OEM and MRO applications. Also supplied is seal‐segment honeycomb for aero and land based turbines and the advice and support needed for brazing these components together.
