H.E Saif Al Suwaidi, director general of General Civil Aviation Authority, said: “Captain Al Hamili was elected to chair this important committee following the UAE's effective leadership role and tremendous efforts in supporting the organization's work for the past two triennia. This adds up to the UAE's recent success at ICAO's 38th Session Assembly held the beginning of this month where the UAE was re-elected and retained its seat as a Council member for 2014-2016 with the highest numb of votes.”

Capt. Al Hamili added: “This important role is genuine recognition of the tremendous leadership that the UAE is exercising on international civil aviation.” The world has witnessed the active role that the UAE plays at ICAO, as well as the significant contribution to the advancement of civil aviation.”
