The Bank’s Chairman, Mrs. Hamdiya al-Jaff, said that the planes, each capable of carrying around 200 passengers, were made in 2009 and had not been put into service since they were manufactured.

She said the planes will be available for airlines to charter or lease to enable them to increase capacity during the seasons of Hajj and other pilgrimages to Mecca.
