The annual programme, launched for the first time in the United Arab Emirates, allows students to spend six months working in the United States at the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) plant in Renton, Washington.

The three students selected for the program are Zainab Al Junaibi, an American University in Dubai (AUD) student from Abu Dhabi; Shamma Khalfan Al Nuaimi, a United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) student from Al Ain; and Maha Yaqoot Juma Harqoos, a Zayed University (ZU) student from Dubai.

“By interning with the world’s largest aerospace company, these students will be given a chance to contribute to projects that will not only have a measurable impact on our company but also on the aerospace industry,” said Jeffrey Johnson, president of Boeing Middle East. “This is a tremendous opportunity and I would like to congratulate the students who have been selected to represent the UAE on the program. In addition to being part of our longstanding commitment to workforce development in the UAE through partnership and innovation, this program is specifically designed to share Boeing’s knowledge and experience at an academic level.”

On her selection to be an intern with Boeing, Shamma Khalfan Al Nuaimi Said: “Working with Boeing team will be an extraordinary learning experience for me. The benefit that I’m expecting to gain from being a part of Boeing’s international business intern programme is exactly what the UAE job market seeks for in its employees nowadays.”

Another Emirati selected for the program, Zainab Al Junaibi also expressed her excitement about joining the program. “I am looking forward for this program as it offers me a great opportunity to develop both my personal and professional skills. The program will not only enhance my future career path, but it will also introduce me to the culture of working environment in multinational companies.”
