Thales to provide services to Muscat and Salalah

Thales are to operate an integrated security solution in Oman's newest airports in Muscat and Salalah after being selected by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Oman.

Thales has taken over as master system integrator (MSI) for both airports, and will provide them with security features such as perimeter intrusion detection system, video protection system, access control, screening equipment, security check points, access and backbone network along with data centres to ensure high quality.
 
The development of Muscat International Airport means that the annual passenger capacity will reach 12 million.
 
Salalah’s new airport can take an annual passenger capacity of 1 million.
 
The use of Thales’ services will ensure the efficiency of the expansion of the two airports whilst keeping both airports up to date with new technology that will help maintain efficiency.
 

This project will help confirm Thales as a leader in global airport security solutions, joining their existing infrastructures of the airports in Dubai and Doha, the new commercial port in Doha and oil and gas sites in Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Iraq and Eurasia.
