Thales announces new vice president to Saudi Arabia

Thales has appointed Jean-Yves Tolot, previously in charge of the Africa region, as new VicePresident, Saudi Arabia. He will be based in Riyadh and will lead allThales business activities in this country.

Jean-Yves Tolot is a graduate of the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po) and the École Nationale d'Administration. He began his career in 1980 at the French civil aviation authority (DGAC) and was temporarily assigned to the Inspection Générale des Finances (Treasury department responsible for auditing public bodies) from 1984 to 1986. He then held various ministerial cabinet posts, focusing on the transportation sector.

From 1998 to 2005, Jean-Yves Tolot joins an investment fund, Qualis, before moving to EADS International in 2006 to head up industrial development in emerging countries. Jean-Yves Tolot joined Thales in 2008 and has pursued an international career, successively leading the Group's activities in Saudi Arabia and Turkey. From 2010, Jean-Yves Tolot was in charge of the Africa region.
