Strata appoints Badr Al-Olama as new CEO

Strata Manufacturing, Mubadala Aerospace's advanced composite aerostructures manufacturing facility based in Al Ain has announcesd the appointment of Badr Al-Olama as CEO.

Al-Olama, a UAE National has held the role of Senior Vice President for Mubadala Aerospace leading the development of Nibras – the Al Ain Aerospace Park, a joint initiative between Mubadala Aerospace and Abu Dhabi Airports Company. Nibras will serve UAE-based aerospace businesses, and will also attract global aerospace organizations to establish their regional headquarters in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and city of Al Ain, promoting further economic diversification and job creation. Al-Olama has served as a Deputy CEO of Strata since April 2011.

A graduate of Harvard Law School, Al-Olama was a Legal Advocate and Consultant prior to joining Mubadala. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Sanad Aero Solutions, a Mubadala Aerospace company, and is also the President of the UAE Harvard Alumni Society.
 
Chairman of Strata and executive director of Mubadala Aerospace Homaid Al Shemmari stated: “Badr’s knowledge, experience and dedication will ensure that Strata maintains its growth trajectory and achieves its objective of becoming a leading supplier of composite aerostructures to global aircraft manufacturers.”

The former Strata CEO, Ross Bradley, who held that position for four years, has successfully led the establishment of the plant and secured the exclusive deals that have moved Strata from being a Tier II supplier to a Tier I supplier in less than two years. “Ross has fulfilled his mandate by not only establishing the plant and securing all the current long-term deals but has also kept an eye on the Emiratization plans, ensuring that we have UAE nationals on the shop floors,” commented Al Shemmari. Ross will continue as a consultant to Strata management for at least two years.
 
Ross Bradley, spoke of Strata’s success and his optimism for the company’s future: “Strata has achieved many significant milestones to date.  The tone for success was established from the outset of the company as we managed to deliver our first work package just months after building the facility.  We have aligned with some of the world’s finest aircraft manufacturers and Strata is well on its way to become a key supplier to the industry.”
