The company’s presence is part of the move to increase more awareness on its latest portfolio of state-of-the-art Digital ICT offerings—advanced airport systems, technology infrastructure, applications and security solutions. The Smartworld stand will be located at Stand No. 8210, Hall No. 8.

The Smartworld stand will also feature some of its key partners, which includes EMC, a leading provider of IT storage hardware solutions; Juniper, a leading producer of high speed, reliable switching routers; Bosch, the world renowned German multinational engineering and electronics company and SAAED, one of the UAE's leading traffic systems provider.

Recent industry reports show that investments worth over USD 100 billion have now been made for the further development of airports and its related infrastructure in the Middle East, which reflects the bullish attitude of regional governments, specifically in the GCC, to position themselves as new global travel hubs. In fact, airport IT spending in the region has grown at a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 12 per cent since 2010. Industry analysts have shared that the highest priority IT investment for airports includes improving the passenger experience; enhancing airport operations; reducing the cost of business operations and making the passenger processing experience more convenient.

"These are exciting times for the Middle East aviation industry, which has seen GCC countries working towards positioning themselves as premier travel hubs. In line with this, we are seeing an increase in IT spending for these airports--reflecting the significant role that technology plays in successfully running an airport," Hamza Achour, Marketing, Alliances & Sales Operations Manager, Smartworld. "Airports in the region today are upbeat about the entry of more growth, which is why airport technology chiefs have increased confidence that their budget, in absolute terms, will increase further or remain stable in 2014. This year's Airport Show will provide us with the ideal business and networking platform to showcase the latest innovation and technology offerings that support the Digital airport development market."

Smartworld’s offerings have been designed to meet the demands of mission-critical environments within the aviation industry. The company has successfully handled migration and phasing of solutions across some of today’s leading airports. Smartworld airports technology services include Airport Systems Program & Project Management, Airport Systems Implementations and Support, Airport Systems Architecture and Design, and Airport Systems Master Integration.

“Middle East countries in general and Arabian Gulf states in particular are now pumping in billions of dollars in the move to build new airports or expand existing facilities to meet the demands of future air travellers and expanding fleets of airlines, especially their national carriers. Smartworld understands the urgency of these undertakings as we believe that these developments should be backed with reliable and innovative technology. Rest assured we will remain steadfast in leveraging our strategic range of state-of-the-art ICT offerings and services in strengthening the operations of airports in the region” concluded Achour.
