Sharjah International Airport awards Enova contract

Sharjah International Airport has awarded “Enova” a contract to provide technical and specialised facilities management services for its buildings comprising MEP, FIDS, Security System and Civil, as well as air field services including airfield lighting, runway civil maintenance and communications, navigation systems at its facilities.

With plans to add Energy Performance Management components that would see savings for the airport, decreasing energy consumption among the facilities to achieve targets for sustainable, efficient and green buildings. 

The evaluation of the contracts was done under the supervision of the technical team at Sharjah International Airport in the presence of representatives from the Directorate of Public Works; after an extensive evaluation Enova was appointed the new facilities management contract. 

Ali Salim Al Midfa, chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said: “Sharjah International Airport enjoys an excellent reputation for its operational efficiency, which came as a result of efficient management of the highest international standards, in addition to the ongoing maintenance works in all its facilities to ensure pleasant travelling experience for our passengers & satisfactory level of services to our clients at the airport. Enova is one of the leading companies in this field; it has proven through the years its ability to manage the airport facilities efficiently. We are confident that the company will continue to provide the best level of services and we wish Enova all the best in coming years." 

He added: "Our aim is to ensure the highest level of maintenance is made to all the airport’s facilities and infrastructure in order to operate efficiently around the clock.  And we are confident that this partnership with Enova will lead to excellent results, which all stakeholders and passengers will benefit from. Also we will work to maximize the energy savings among the facilities as part of our environment conservation program. In fact, Sharjah international Airport has been awarded is the first airport in the region to be awarded its “Airport Carbon Accreditation”. This step highlights the role that the emirate of Sharjah is playing to achieve the overall sustainability." 

Enova, formerly known as MAF Dalkia is a joint venture between Majid Al Futtaim – the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, and Veolia – a global leader in optimized resource management. Sharjah International and Enova already have a strong relationship since the signing of their first contract in 2011 for the provision of technical and project management services.
