An official source at the airline said that information was received in the early hours of Wednesday morning about a possible security threat on flight MS 955.
The aircraft landed at Urgench International Airport, after Cairo security authorities requested via a satellite call to the aircraft pilot ordering him to land at the nearest airport.
“All passengers and crew on board were evacuated and the aircraft was being searched and sterilized by the Uzbekistani security authorities,” according to a statement. They immediately announced the alarm to be false. “All necessary procedures are currently underway for the resuming of the flight to Beijing airport from Urgench International Airport,” the airline said.
