Saudia tops the region's on-time performers

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) was the best on-time performer among the Middle East's major airlines throughout January according to figures issued today by flightstats.com.

The Jeddah-based national carrier achieved more than four out of every five flights arriving on time with an average of 83. 1%.

Qatar Airways was the best of the Gulf carriers with 81.1% on time arrivals.

With an average of 69.24% of on-time arrivals by Middle East and African carriers, many of the others fell below.

Among those other carriers Emirates achieved 66.15%, Flydubai 55.7%, EgyptAir 65.16%, Pegasus 66.23%, Royal Jordanian 64.64% and Turkish Airlines 67.36%.

Among the most delayed airlines was Etihad with more than half of its 7,968 flights failing to arrive on time.
