The extra and charter flights catered for demand on travel on all sectors during the month of September, which coincided with Hajj season and Eid Al Adha and a remarkable growth of tourism traffic. The aircraft utilization increased to 13 hours per day, compared to the annual average of 11.7 hours per day.

In September, Royal Jordanian ran 34 extra Hajj flights to Madinah and Jeddah, to carry Jordanian pilgrims to the sacred city of Mecca and non-Jordanian Muslim pilgrims from different RJ stations, particularly from Europe, North America transiting via Amman and then off to Saudi Arabia, be it on scheduled or on additional flights.

In light of the noticeable tourism traffic during Eid Al Adha, RJ operated 63 charter flights to attraction sites in the region, particularly Antalya and Bodrum in Turkey, Rhodes Island in Greece and Hurghada in Egypt.

It also operated 52 additional flights to several destinations in Europe, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia accommodating Jordanian expatriates returning to the countries where they reside after their holidays.
