Revamped EgyptAir duty-free shopping zones to open at TB2

Egypt Tourism (Karnak) and Duty-Free Company will open a new revamped duty-free shopping, food and beverage outlets at the New Administrative Capital and Sphinx international airports by the coming fiscal year 2017/2018.

A 500-square-meter duty-free stores will be making their debut in the public area of the arrival and departure halls of Terminal 2 at the Cairo International Airport.

“EgyptAir’s Duty-Free development plan is still in progress,” said Reda Metwally, EgyptTourism (Karnak) and Duty-Free CEO said. He added that improvements have been made to affiliated storage as some were turned into refrigerated units for preserving goods while others, located in Kasfareet, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Alexandria, have been renovated.

Further actions are underway for purchasing delivery trucks and refrigerated vehicles to transport products to stores and duty-free outlets.

EgyptTourism (Karnak) and Duty-Free Company annual report shows a surplus of EGP100 million until the end of April 2017. The company targets achieving an estimated net profit of 120 million by end of the fiscal year 2016/2017 - with an increase of 300%.
