Qatar Airways to commence double-daily flights to Romania

Qatar Airways will double the amount of flights on its Doha to Bucharest route from this summer, enhancing the service from a daily to double-daily offering, in response to increased passenger demand to and from Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport in Romania.

First commencing service on January 17, 2011, the route recently celebrated its fifth anniversary of serving passengers from Romania, onwards to more than 150 global destinations, with the daily scheduled service set to increase this summer to a 10 weekly offering from 2 June and to 14 flights per week from August 1.

Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “As a global airline, we are committed to connecting Romania to our worldwide network of more than 150 destinations through our award-winning hub and home, Hamad International Airport. As such, we are delighted to be celebrating the fifth anniversary since Qatar Airways commenced its direct flights to Bucharest, by increasing our capacity and frequency on this route from a daily to double-daily service, connecting business and leisure passengers to Doha and onwards, through seamless transfers within one of the world’s newest airport.”
