Qatar Airways said it had a 'successful week' at the Paris Air Show

Qatar Airways has completed what it describes as a successful week at the Paris Air Show where it made history by being the first airline to ever display five aircraft on static display at the show.

The airline brought its A380, A350, A320, A319 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Le Bourget. 

The week was filled with highlights for the five-star airline, including placing an order for both commercial and freighter Boeing 777s, and winning three Skytrax awards. 

Qatar Airways started an exciting week at the show by announcing a firm order for 10 777-8Xs and four 777 freighters with a total value of US$4.8 billion. 

On day two of the event, Qatar Airways was awarded three of the top aviation awards at the Skytrax World Airline Awards ceremony:  ‘Airline of the Year’; ‘Best Business Class Seat’, and ‘Best Airline in the Middle East’. This is the third time the airline has won the coveted Airline of the Year award, which is considered the highest accolade in the industry. 

The awards, which are based on surveys completed by millions of passengers all over the world, are a testament to the commitment and dedication to providing a high-quality service and five-star travel experience by Qatar Airways. 

During the week, Qatar Airways’ displayed five aircraft from its 160-strong fleet, including the latest generation Airbus A350 XWB, the A380, A320, A319 and a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. 

The occasion gave Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, the opportunity to host a number of VIPs and dignitaries on board, including French President, François Hollande, Violeta Bulc, European Commissioner for Transport, France’s Prime Minister,  Manuel Valls, and France’s Secretary of State for Transport, Alain Vidalies, to view Qatar Airways’ latest-generation aircraft, which were largely produced in France.
