The contract is part of a 30-aircraft sales agreement announced last year, and the aircraft will add to three G650ER already in service and available for charter with Qatar Executive.

“Gulfstream’s commitment to delivering the world’s finest flying experience has made them world leaders in private aviation, which in turn makes them the perfect partner for Qatar Executive. Their focus on performance, efficiency and innovation mirrors our own, and is the key to our growing and successful affiliation,” said Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways Group, chief executive.

The contract shows a strong economic outlook for Qatar Airways, and comes on the day the carrier announced its financial report for FY2016, which showed a growth rate of 28 per cent.

The G650ER travels 7,500 nm/13,890 km at Mach 0.85 and 6,400 nm/11,853 km at Mach 0.90, and the largest purpose-built business-jet cabin with wider seats, more aisle room, 16 panoramic windows, a low cabin altitude and quiet cabin sound levels.
