PATS Aircraft Systems delivers 4th 737‐900ER with Auxiliary Fuel System to THY

Posted 12 July 2012 · Add Comment

PATS Aircraft Systems has announced the delivery of the fourth B737‐900ER with the PATS' Auxiliary Fuel System (AFS) to Turkish Airlines (THY).

The AFS was installed at the PATS’ Georgetown, Delaware facility and was delivered in a 2tank aft configuration, adding an additional 962 gallons of fuel and extending the potential range of the aircraft to over 3,200nm. As with all PATS Auxiliary Fuel Systems, the 737900ER AFS feeds the aircraft’s integral fuel tank and operates independently, allowing the system to be active or inactive based upon mission requirements.

The aircraft is part of a tenaircraft AFS order and joins three previously delivered aircraft which are enabling THY to offer an expanding route structure with service into Africa including destinations such as Lagos and Accra. The balance of the ten aircraft order will be delivered by PATS over the next nine months to provide THY with additional range capability and new opportunities to offer THY world class service on new routes with the 737900ER.

PATS’ Auxiliary Fuel Systems add an important option to aircraft owners and operators, including commercial passenger service. PATS’ CEO, John Martin, notes, “PATS offers unique solutions to aircraft operators which improve performance, create new route and business opportunities and enhance inflight experience. THY is recognizing the benefit of extended range capability that PATS’ Auxiliary Fuel System adds to the already capable Boeing 737900ER aircraft.”
