The Sharjah Airport Authority said the airport welcomed more than 5.35 million passengers from January to June. More than 36,000 aircraft movements were registered in the first half of this year, which is a 5.74% year-on-year rise. Freight handled during the first six months is reported as more than 92,000 tons with Sea-Air cargo being more than 6,000 tons.
Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman, Sharjah Airport Authority, attributed the positive performance due to more airlines operating from the airports and additional destinations being served from it.
