The Italian company has signed an exclusive agreement with Emirates Synaxis Holding and His Excellency Abdul Rahim Al Hashemi and submitted its business plan to the UAE Offset group.

“Our final goal of receiving the UAE government partnership means we can fulfil the national interest, creating specialised jobs opportunities in the region and bringing excellency in this aeronautical field to the GCC,” said Marco Tonucci, director of marketing and sales.

Tonucci explained after speaking with airlines he was informed seat manufacturers are ‘too standard’ and ‘focus heavily on weight and not the passenger’: “We want to change this perception and offer airlines customised solutions. The aim of this new company is it to produce, over the next years, the majority of seat components in the United Arab Emirates and to establish a customer support centre which shall include spares warehousing in Abu Dhabi.”

Optimares will be displaying two rows of economy class seats at the aircraft interiors show in Hamburg in April.
