Oman's first C295 is ready for delivery by Airbus Military

Airbus Military is ready to deliver its 100th example of the C295 medium transport/surveillance aircraft to the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).

The RAFO was at the Paris Air Show today to meet with Airbus with a delegation led by Oman’s defence minister Sayyid Badr bin Saood Al Busaidi.

The official transfer of the title will take place from Seville immediately after the airshow.
The aircraft is the first of eight ordered last year by RAFO and is configured for tactical transport operations. It will be used for initial training at Seville, Spain, where it was assembled, before transferring to Oman later in the year.
RAFO has ordered a combination of aircraft in transport and maritime patrol configurations, the latter featuring Airbus Military’s proprietary Fully Integrated Tactical System (FITS). The associated integrated logistic system (ILS) support package contracted by Oman also includes a full-flight simulator to be delivered next year.
The new generation C295 is designed for defence and civic missions, such as humanitarian actions, maritime patrol, and environmental surveillance missions,
