Oman Airports Management Company release update report

The year 2014 was an exceptional period according to Oman Airport's Management Company.

Muscat and Salalah International airports witnessed a success rate in terms of passenger growth, infrastructural developments, and its new route destinations by national carrier Oman Air.   

Muscat International Airport was busy throughout the months of January to December, 2014, reaching a total growth of 8,711,102 passengers; a growth of 5 %.  Last year, the top five routes in volume included Dubai, Salalah, Doha, Bombay, and Abu Dhabi.  Muscat International Airport has seen infrastructure developments including the new ATC tower with a height of a 101 meters, the new runway, which is designed to accommodate code F aircrafts (A380 & B 747-800). 

Salalah International Airport has similarly seen an extreme amount of passenger growth during the same period, reaching a total growth of 842,044 passengers in comparison with 2013, which had an overall increase of  746,994; a growth of 13%. The top four routes in volume last year included Muscat, Dubai, Sharjah, and Doha. Neos S.P.A charter flight based in Somma Lombardo, Italy, has successfully started operating from Salalah International Airport, and will likewise start future charter flights to Muscat International Airport.
