Nexus appoints Halawani as new president and CEO

Omar A.Halawani has been appointed as the new President and CEO and deputised member of Nexus, the global flight operations company.

For the past five years Halawani (above) has served as president and CEO of MASARAT Aviation Consulting, where he built a global aviation consulting firm offering a wide range of technical and management consulting services in aviation, prior to that he was CEO of MAZ Aviation Consultants, a partner of NEXUS, where he had responsibility for the direct management, business development, oversight and implementation of all investments projects.

Abdullah Al Sayed, who has served as the President and CEO of Nexus since Its inception in 2010, will assume the role of chairman of Nexus.

Al Sayed was also previously the CEO of NetJets Middle East.

“Omar is exceptionally well qualified leader to assume the role of President and  CEO,” said Al Sayed.“He has proven track record building successful multinational organisations, exceeding established business goals, and working effectively with both the private and government aviation sectors. The Board of Directors look forward to working with him and continue to build Nexus as a global leader in flight operations services.”

Halawani will lead and manage the day to day business and continue the growth of the business through expanding the group capabilities, leadership and customer’s base.
