As of 2014, academic institutions and professional individuals will be able to join the MEBAA community and enjoy the vast array of membership benefits, such as connecting with senior officials and decision makers within business aviation, attending member only conferences, eligibility for insurance and ERP plans discounts, access to industry data and market led research and have a voice in shaping the region’s legislative landscape.

Welcoming academic institutions such as higher technology schools, colleges and universities as members will help MEBAA encourage students to consider business aviation as a rewarding career and connect them with opportunities for experience amongst its existing member base. Membership will also not be restricted to academic institutions that deal exclusively with aviation subjects, but also with any educational establishments that offer aviation related subjects as an elective or optional course.

Likewise, MEBAA’s professional individual membership will give the opportunity for any aviation professional within the region, for example pilots, engineers, flight dispatchers to participate in MEBAA events and continuing education. The membership will also be available to retired aviation professionals who would like to maintain an interest in the industry.

Ali Al Naqbi, founding chairman of MEBAA said, “There are many individuals in business aviation that are taking charge of their own career and want greater access to the benefits MEBAA can offer that has seen our membership base grow exponentially over the last few years.

“At the same time MEBAA is prioritising its efforts to help resource tomorrow’s industry with the best talent. So our additional categories will bolster our plans to introduce students to the business aviation industry and support those already working within aviation to develop their contacts and knowledge in their respective field of expertise. We look forward to welcoming the new members to MEBAA’s already growing membership base and ensuring that we collectively add value to the region’s business aviation industry ”.
