Major assembly of Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner gets underway

The major assembly of the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner has begun with partner Kawasaki Heavy Industries installing circular frames into the mid forward section, earlier this week.

This has lead to assembly being two weeks ahead of schedule.
 
“Beginning major assembly early underscores the commitment, discipline and performance of the entire Boeing and partner team worldwide. We are taking all the right steps to ensure we integrate the 787-10 into the production system smoothly,” said Ken Sanger, vice president of 787 Airplane Development, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
 
Deliveries of the aircraft are due to begin in 2018, with 153 orders already being put in place.
 
The 787-10 promises 25% better fuel use and emissions that the aircraft it is due to replace, and 10~% more than anything else on the market.
