The agreement was signed earlier this week Minister for Transport, Communications and Works, Professor Makame Mbarawa on behalf of Tanzania and Kuwaiti director general of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Yousef S. Al Fouzan.

Mbarawa said that the agreement will enhance civil aviation cooperation between the two natures.

Currently, Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) cannot make flights to Kuwait due to its one aircraft.

"At the moment ATCL has only one aircraft, we have invited three aircraft manufacturers who have made their presentation and we will start by buying two new planes for the local market before trying to penetrate the regional market and then the international market. Hopefully in five years’ time ATCL will be flying to Kuwait," Mbarawa said.
