“Joel brings a wealth of experience to our EMEA region,” said LORD Corporation president and CEO Ed Auslander. “His strong background in business development and operations align well with our strategic objectives, and we’re confident in his ability to drive innovation and growth in this important region.”

Rood holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Princeton University, a Master of Science degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas, and is a Sloan Fellow with a Master of Science in management from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

He began his career at Schlumberger International, Ltd., where he held various marketing and field service roles across Norway, France and Africa. Rood later held senior management positions at MTS Systems Corporation, Hilti Corporation, James Hardie Building Products Corporation and CertainTeed Corporation, serving the North American, European and Asian markets.

Rood succeeds Joe Marotta, who will retire at the end of 2015 after an 18-year career at LORD.  Under Marotta’s leadership, the EMEA region achieved major new customer wins on rotary wing platforms through the company’s active vibration control solutions, and several new business awards with automotive and industrial customers for LORD adhesive solutions. LORD Corporation’s presence in the EMEA region has steadily grown with additions of technical, production, and commercial staff, including the opening of a new office in Dubai, UAE.

“Through Joe’s leadership, we have increased our effectiveness in meeting customer needs, launched several new product platforms that improve the performance of our customers’ products, and expanded into new markets,” said Auslander. “We are grateful for his many years of dedicated service.”
