This puts the joint venture between the General Dynamics subsidiary and the UAE’s AL Mulla Group  head-to-head with local rivals ExecuJet  which has teamed up with Bahrain’s Mena Aerospace and Canada’s GAL to offer interiors work.

In a statement today, Jet Aviation said the decision to offer these services was based on growing customer demand for interior repair and refurbishment capabilities in the region, particularly when aircraft undergo heavy maintenance.

Jet Aviation’s Dubai facility will start providing interior capabilities at its maintenance facility in the second half of this year.

The MRO provider will offer comprehensive refurbishment capabilities for aircraft interiors, including upholstery, carpeting, overhaul repainting of headliner and side panels, chrome- and gold-plating, woodwork, sheet metal work, and repair of fibreglass, plastic and composite items.

“We are committed to meeting our customer requirements,” says Michael Rucker, vice president and general manager at Jet Aviation Dubai. “These new service offerings will improve efficiencies through better utilization of aircraft downtime and further allow us to perform warranty work for the General Aviation Centre and other OEMs.”
