It will follow Wizz Air which will launch passenger services to the airport - close to the "New Dubai" area and the tourism hot spots.

It was originally announced that Nasair of Saudi Arabia would be the Middle Eastern launch customer of the new airport but the value carrier's switch to the new site is being reconsidered.

However, Jazeera Airways said today that it will start serving Al Maktoum with two weekly flights starting October 31. These will operate in addition to the ongoing flights to Dubai International Airport (DXB) .

DWC is Dubai’s new airport scheduled to open in October. The airport is close to Dubai’s resort city of Jumeirah.

The new route to DWC complements Jazeera Airways’ current operation between Kuwait and Dubai International, which has been operating since 2005.There are an average of 25 flights per week.
