Gulf Air Wins 'Arab Technology Award 2012'

Gulf Air has won the 'Best Airline Award' at the 'Arabian Computer News Arab Technology Awards 2012' for its outstanding work in the area of information technology and implementation over the past 12 months.

It was was voted the best airline in the Hospitality and Tourism Implementation of the year category, establishing once again its leadership position in the Arab and Middle East regions’ aviation industry. 

Dr. Jassim Haji, Gulf Air director of information tchnology received the award at a gala ceremony in Dubai yesterday that saw over 400 leading technology professionals and organizations from the Arab world taking part. 

Gulf Air CEO Samer Majali said: “The award once again proves the relentless efforts that we put in embracing and implementing innovative and cost-effective technologies to serve our customers more efficiently while maximizing the advantages these technologies offer in running our business. 

“IT is integral to any business these days and, given the fast-paced developments in this area, introducing innovations and leveraging their technological solutions to our advantage is very important to stay ahead. I am glad our efforts are recognized at this international forum.” 

Earlier this year Gulf Air won the ‘CIO 50 Awards 2012’ for spearheading and embracing technological advancements in the aviation sector. 

This year’s awards feature 17 categories that recognize successful deployments carried out by end-users from a number of vertical sectors, the leading vendors in a variety of enterprise segments, and the CIO and IT department at the top of their profession.
