Gulf Air launches its four-weekly flights to Moscow

Gulf Air has launched its four weekly direct services to the Russian capital city of Moscow.

Maher Salman Al Musallam, the airline acting chief executive officer, said: “I am delighted Gulf Air is directly connecting Moscow and Bahrain  as product of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa successful visit to the Russian capital Moscow and the previous visit of  His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and the First Deputy of the Prime Minister. During this visit, an agreement of mutual Air Transport was signed, paving the way for direct flights between Manama and Moscow. His Majesty’s visit marked the beginning of new strategic business, investment and tourism cooperation prospects between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation. We hope our passengers will experience and enjoy Russia’s historic capital city.” 

Al Musallam added: "I would like to thank all officials in both Bahrain and Russia who have aided in the successful launch of Gulf Air’s maiden flight today. I would also like to express my appreciation to Her Excellency Sh. Mai bint Mohammed bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Minister of Culture and Her Excellency Mrs. Sameera bint Rajab, Minister of State for Information Affairs, for their presence with us today, demonstrating the Kingdom’s  support to its national carrier and the cultural and media exchange between the two countries. Finally, I would like to thank H.E. Victor Smirnov – Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Transport, Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs, Bahrain Airport Company, Bahrain International Airport, Bahrain Airport Services, the Civil Aviation in Russia and Domodedovo International Airport for facilitating the successful of this milestone. Notably, I would like to mention members of the Gulf Air family and our GSA in Moscow “Discover the World” who, both in Bahrain and Russia, extended the utmost efforts towards launching this route.” 

Gulf Air’s direct 4 weekly Moscow flights will depart from Bahrain on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 09:00 and will be operated by an Airbus A320-ER aircraft with 110-seat capacity in a two-class configuration of 14 Falcon Gold flatbed seats and 96 Economy class seats with wide legroom providing maximum comfort inflight.
