The airline said that it meets all of the requirements to operate under the terms of the bilateral agreement between Germany and Iraq.

Germania  has been operating flights from Dusseldorf and Munich in Germany as well as from Stockholm in Sweden to the Iraqi cities of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.

A spokesman said the airline is working with Swedish and German authorities in resolving the issue with the Iraq Civil Aviation Authority (ICAA) to resume flights as soon as possible.
