GCAA to Host Regional Runway Safety seminar

The United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is hosting the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) 2nd Middle East Regional Runway Safety Seminar from 2 to 4 June 2014 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Festival City, Dubai.

The event is sponsored by Dubai Airports and has been supported by Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways.   

Approximately 200 attendees from the UAE and Middle East states are expected at attend, including representatives from ICAO, FAA, IATA, ACI, IFATCA, manufacturers (Boeing and Airbus), civil aviation authorities, air navigation service providers, airports, airlines and government agencies. 

The Seminar will include panel discussion regarding the prevention of Runway Excursions, prevention of Runway Incursions and runway safety through Advances in Technology, as well as Local Runway Safety Team and Aerodrome Certification Interactive Workshops.
