Former Rolls-Royce head takes leadership role with Gama

Sharjah-based Gama, has announced today that former Rolls-Royce chief Sir Ralph Robins is to become non-executive chairman of the global business aviation and services group.

Sir Ralph was previously CEO and then executive chairman of Rolls-Royce. “I am delighted that he is joining the board of Gama at a time of significant expansion and I am very much looking forward to working with him,” said Marwan Khalek, CEO of Gama Group. “Sir Ralph’s unique blend of aerospace, international business, corporate governance experience and know-how will ensure that we deliver even better value to our customers, employees and investors.”

He is also a former president of the Society of British Aerospace Companies and chairman of the Defence Industries Council.

“As Gama heads towards its 30th anniversary, it has established a proven track record of successful expansion and sustainable growth in this challenging market segment,” said Sir Ralph. “I am very pleased to join Marwan and the management team and provide them with support and advice as they look forward to the next thirty years of growth.”

Recent expansion of services have included the exclusive provision of executive aircraft ground services at Sharjah International Airport, UAE and the establishment of Gama Engineering Ltd, affording fixed and rotor wing aircraft operators  a comprehensive design, manufacturing, certification, maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification service at Fairoaks Airport, UK. 145 certified for the provision of engine and component overhaul services.
