flydubai’s chief executive officer, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said: “We are pleased to announce the launch of direct flights to Russia’s capital marking the airline’s commitment to one of its key markets. This new route will offer both business and leisure travellers greater choice when they travel between Dubai and Moscow.”

flydubai was launched in 2009 and entered the Russian market in its second year of operation. The airline started direct flights to Dubai from Samara and Yekaterinburg in October 2010, followed by Kazan and Ufa in 2011. Last year, the airline doubled its network in the country with four new destinations: Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Rostov-on-Don and Volgograd.

During MITT visitors will have the opportunity to experience flydubai’s new Business Class and try out its award-winning inflight entertainment system. flydubai launched the premium service in October 2013, marking an important evolution of flydubai’s passenger offering. Business Class passengers can benefit from a variety of customised services including comfortable reclining seats with a pitch of 42 inches, equipped with a 12.1 inch high-definition touchscreen, a dedicated Business Team available 24/7 to assist with any enquiry, priority check-in and helping to reduce the time spent in the airport a fast track through immigration. Business Class is available on all its Russian routes and popular destinations such as the Maldives.

Jeyhun Efendi, senior vice president commercial at flydubai, said: “flydubai’s direct flights to Moscow offer passengers great value for money and we believe it will offer both business and leisure passengers, later this year, more flexible travel options to Moscow. Our recently launched Business Class is now available on all our routes to Russia.”

Both Business and Economy passengers will benefit from the Boeing Sky Interior, specially designed to improve the onboard ambience and reduce jet lag. Passengers can enjoy flydubai’s award-winning inflight entertainment system from Lumexis with over 1000 hours of non-stop entertainment, which offers an extensive range of films and TV shows, with the latest releases available in high definition. The eReader system allows the business traveller to keep up to date with the day’s news with access to over 48 daily newspapers including many international titles.

“flydubai’s Business Class offers a more comfortable and personal flying experience in a cabin configured with 12 seats, friendly service on board and an internationally inspired menu; we’re delighted to introduce our new offering to Moscow,” added Efendi.

Analyst Saj Ahmad commented: “Flydubai's continued foray into the lucrative Russian market with Moscow underscores its drive to bolster traffic and revenue.

“With the extra range and performance of its 737-800 fleet, equipped with business class seating, flydubai will be right in the mix along side less agile and inefficient competition.

“Flydubai will be able to pick off rivals with ease - this is a smart new route that will yield a massive boost to their revenue pool.”
