Flights to Baghdad suspended after attack on Flydubai aircraft

Airlines from the UAE, Lebanon and Turkey have suspended flights to Baghdad after a Flydubai B737 was hit by bullets as it landed at the Iraqi capital's airport.

Two passengers were said to have been injured in the attack.
According to Reuters, the Iraqi Transport Minister Bayan Jaboor said the plane was hit at an altitude of 600 meters (2,000 feet) by gunfire from what he judged was a light machinegun.
An Iraqi spokesperson said the security forces had identified the source.
All UAE airlines immediately suspended flights to Baghdad in a move followed by the aviation authorities in Lebanon and Turkey.
An aviation official told Reuters that Iraq had briefly suspended air traffic.
