F&E announce Middle East management changes

A number of new appointments has been announced by the company responsible for organising the Dubai Air Show.

F&E (A Tarsus Group Company) has announced that Gary Marshall, CEO Asia and an executive director of Tarsus Group will, with immediate effect expand his responsibilities to include the Middle East in the role of CEO Asia and Middle East.

The changes follow the departure of regional CEO Clive Richardson and Aerospace managing director Alison Weller who are leaving to pursue other business intetrests.

A new CEO with direct responsibility for the Dubai operation has been appointed to succeed Richardson as CEO of F&E Aerospace.  Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Sharief Fahmy will be joining the Middle East team effective 1 June 2013 after recently completing a distinguished 23-year career in the United States Air Force (USAF), 

Sharief most recently served for five years at the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi as an international regional area strategist. In this role, he led the US government to their successful participation in the last two Dubai Airshows and last three editions IDEX.
 
Michele van Akelijen, most recently the Aerospace Director at F&E Aerospace, has been promoted to Managing Director of F&E Aerospace to success Alison Weller
 
 
In a statement F&E said: "Michele is an experienced aerospace and defence event professional with 24 years’ experience in the industry. She has been instrumental in developing and operating the successful Middle East aviation portfolio including the Dubai Airshow since joining F&E Aerospace in 2006"
 
As well as the air show F&E is responsible for the organisation of events such as Middle East Business Aviation (MEBA), Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME), Maintenance Repair and Overhaul show, Gulf Educational Supplies & Solutions (GESS) and Gulf Print & Pack.
