The terminal design will be based on ExecuJet’s current facility at Dubai International, with increased hangar floor space and a dedicated parking hangar. The terminal is expected to be constructed by Q1 2017.

Mike Berry, vice president, Middle East, ExecuJet Aviation Group, says: “We anticipate breaking ground for the new facility within the next six months. We are looking forward to building our new facility at what will be the biggest airport in the world and are working closely with Dubai Airports to tie in with its strategy for GA migration. However, we hope to also retain some presence at Dubai International in the future as well.”

ExecuJet currently has an FBO facility at DWC which includes a VVIP passenger lounge, crew lounge, washrooms and showers.

DWC is undergoing a $32bn expansion, which will enable the airport to accommodate more than 200 million passengers a year.

Anticipated to be the biggest airport project in the world, the expansion will be built in two phases over six to eight years. The first phase includes the construction of two satellite buildings with capacity for 120 million passengers annually and up to 100 A380 aircraft at any one time. The entire development will cover an area of 56 square kilometres.
