Etihad to cut back on service to Dublin

The decision to cut back on its Dublin service by Eithad is understood to be due to a shortage of aircraft, the Irish Times reports.

The airline has cut back their twice-daily service to Dublin to once a day between January and June 2016.

The route is currently services by an Airbus A330, however it is to be replaced with a Boeing 777. This will cut the amount of both economy and business class seats.

The leases on Etihad’s aircrafts are due to expire, which results in less aircraft to operate service and is said to be the reason behind the cut back on the Dublin service.

Etihad currently competes with Emirates who also run a twice-daily service to Dublin.

The route to Dublin is not the only service Eithad is cutting back on this winter. Other services such as routes to Edinburgh and Kuala Lumpur will also be affected.
